Over the past 9 months, LPA Legal Recruitment’s Partner & Team Division have been actively involved supporting our US and UK clients with the development of their London based funds practice. We have been instrumental in bringing partners and law firms together and as a result have developed a significant understanding of what many of the leading firms are looking for at this time. Although market conditions remain challenging, it has been decided by many of our clients that they should strategically position themselves for what they will believe will be an upturn in activity, especially within the private funds/hedge funds sectors in 09/10. Our clients range from top tier UK firms with an established presence in the sector to boutique practices and/or corporate/private equity focused firms looking to position themselves within this space. In addition, many of our US clients with high profile funds teams in the US are keen to replicate their offering in London and support their clients on both sides of the Atlantic. Opportunities exist for individual junior/senior partner applicants and funds teams, so wherever you are at your career we are confident that we will be in a position to discuss options with you. It is likely that applicants will have gained experience in all or some of the following areas:
- Private Equity Funds
- Hedge Funds, Derivatives and Structured Products
- Open-ended Retail Funds
- Property Funds
- Closed-ended Listed Funds
- General Asset Management
It must be stated that all of our clients will require evidence of success in your career to date and comfort in relation to the portability of clients. That said, in certain circumstances particular need is driven more by securing a scarce skill set to service existing clients (where clients of firms have indicated the need for such a skill set in the London office - such as within private equity/hedge funds sector) so candidates coming from firms rated highly in this area with top end deal experience will be considered.
